The Italian island of Capri, Geneva and New York ranked as the three places in the world offering most expensive hotel rooms, a hotels.com survey shows as quoted by Reuters.
According to the survey, hotel room prices increased for the first time in three years.
For the second quarter of 2010 prices increased two percent in comparison to figures for the same period of 2009. This is the firs increase since the end of 2007.
The index includes information about 91 500 hotels and 15 750 destinations. The index rose one percent in Europe and the Caribbean, three percent in the Americas. In Asia, the index kept its level unchanged.
Prices in the Italian island of Capri increased seven percent. This increase turns the island into the most expensive hotel rooms destination worldwide. Capri replaced Monte Carlo as the most expensive accommodation destination.
In Geneva and Switzerland, the average hotel room prices increased eight percent and reached $254 per night.
New York is the city with most expensive hotel rooms in US. The prices there increased 14 percent in comparison to 2009 levels.
Dubrovnik in Croatia, Venice, Rio de Janeiro, Paris, Bali, London and Moscow are also included tin the list of the most expensive hotel rooms.
