Representatives of Bulgaria’s tourism sector are discontent with plans for representation of the tourism sector in the future Economy and Energy Ministry, chairperson of Bulgarian Association of Tourism Agencies (BATA) Donka Sokolova told Darik Radio.
Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB), the party that won majority vote during the parliamentary elections, is planning on closing down the State Agency for Tourism (SAT).
The tourism sector was unprepared for such a move, Sokolova said.
It would be better for tourism to have agency representation, instead of being under a ministry having other functions.
Future prime minister Boiko Borisov said that a deputy minister will be responsible for tourism policies and the sector will be independent of the economy and energy issues.
