Bulgarian-Romanian project to develop ecotourism in the region of Danube

Bulgarian Municipality Vetovo and Romanian municipality Gostinu start a joint project of ecotourism, Bryag daily reported.

Cross-border project Ecotourism: prospects for development of two small communities, provides the construction of a bikeway from Pisanets village to Vetovo and construction of а cultural and tourist information centers in both communities and beach band of the Danube near Gostinu.

Long 18 km the bikeway Pisanets-Vetovo will become a cultural and entertainment facility with places for rest. Information centers and improvements to the beach will be built on a reciprocal basis by Romanian and Bulgarian workers to activate cultural and social contacts between people from the both communities.

The project is worth 1 493 683 euro and will be implemented over 18 months. During the project the municipalities will organize an international conference and seminars on tourism.
