On 28 September 2011 in London opened the Bulgarian Cultural Institute. The Cultural Institute will open the way to the largest English scene for the Bulgarian culture and Bulgarian brightest talents, said the Minister of Culture Vejdi Rashidov.
The Bulgarian Cultural Institute in London opened with exhibitions of works by famous Bulgarian artists - Theophanes Sokerov, Keazim Isinov, Pancho Malezanov, Michael Lalov and others.
Nearly 600 guests were at the event, among them members of parliament, ambassadors, diplomats, representatives of all 80 cultural institutes of different countries operating in London, experts from the British Museum, artists, activists, financiers, businessmen and representatives of the Bulgarian community . The opening was attended by Jane Edwards, director of the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts in London, welcoming the opening of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute.
