Bulgaria will participate in the European Union project The Iron Curtain Route, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Ivo Marinov announced.
The Bulgarian participation in the project could benefit from funding from EU trans-border cooperation programs.
The biking route is 7000 km long and will cross the territories of 20 countries. The project will be completed to 15 years.
Nearly 50 percent of international trips of bikers are to Europe. Of the total, 80 percent of the biking vacations were undertaken by Europeans.
