Bulgaria is the EU member country that has registered largest increase in the volume of construction works during February 2009 in comparison to data for the previous month, expert.bg reported.
The European statistical service Eurostat announced the official data.
In February, Bulgaria, Germany, Slovenia and three other EU member countries registered a positive growth.
The biggest decrease of 8.6 percent was noted in Romania followed by Spain and the Czech Republic.
The overall growth rate for the EU is negative and reached 11.2 percent on an annual basis.
