In May and early June applications for Bulgarian visas at the consular service in Minsk have increased twice, reaching 18 500. That was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
For the summer season of 2012 (May 13 to August 31) the Ministry allocated six additional employees to facilitate the issue of tourist visas.
As of June 11 this year, all Belarusian tour operators accredited by the Embassy are able to access and submit visa applications electronically.
Meanwhile, the Association of Tour Operators in Russia (ATOR) has sent a letter to the Bulgarian Embassy expressing thanks for the good co-operation. “The fruitful co-operation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism of Bulgaria and the Association of Tour Operators in Russia in recent years has created an opportunity to increase sales to Bulgarian destinations,” the letter said.
ATOR said that “the visa facilitation introduced this year for holders of Schengen visas, and the increase of the validity of visas to 90 days, has without doubt led to an increasing number of Russians wanting to spend memorable holidays in Bulgaria”.
