Bulgaria is an undiscovered diamond and there is a lot to be done for its popularizing, according to the American ambassador in the country James Warlick, Klasa daily reported. About 16 000 American tourists visit Bulgaria annually. The amount of the tourist flow from USA to the country can be increased if there is a better advertising.
The Bulgarian government should take measures for improving the tourist marketing because the country is absolutely unknown for the American tourists. There is no difference for them between Bulgaria and Bolivia, James Warlick said.
The Americans visit Greece and Turkey because Bulgaria is not popular to them. This situation should be changed because there are so many sites that deserve to be seen in Bulgaria, commented the American ambassador.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism expects 6% more tourists’ visits in 2011, than the last year. There is a rise of 30% in the Russian tourists and of 20% in the German ones.
