Bulgarian MPs decided to introduce only a partial smoking ban in public places from June 1 2010, Pari daily reported.
Smoking will be permitted in special separate chambers in restaurants, bars, cafés, railway stations, airports and bus stations.
According to the new regulations, owners of restaurants that have area up to 50 sq. m. will decide on their own whether to permit smoking in the restaurant. The presence of rooms for smokers will be mandatory for all workplaces.
Restaurants, clubs and bars that operate during the night time will be allowed to function without designating a separate room for smokers.
According to new regulations, individuals aged under 18 will be denied access to night clubs and pubs that permit smoking.
