The number of tourists who will visit Bulgaria in 2012 will increase eight percent, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev prognosticates. He visited the International tourism fair Cultural Tourism which took place in Bulgaria’s Veliko Turnovo from April 19 until April 21.

Dobrev and Deputy Minister of Tourism Ivo Marinov visited all stands of the exhibitors and talked to the representatives.

More than 15 countries from four continents presented their opportunities for tourism. It was the ninth edition of the exhibition which aims to popularize cultural tourism, events and landmarks around the world.

According to the minister Russian tourists in Bulgaria this year will increase 20 percent due to the fact that Russians with Schengen visas can enter Bulgaria free.

Currently tourism in Bulgarian represents 15 percent of the GDP and it is the only sphere which continues to develop despite the crisis, Dobrev said.
