Bulgaria accepts strategic cultural tourism development plan

Council of Ministers accepted a strategic plan for cultural tourism development, a press conference was told.
 
Italian ambassador to Bulgaria Stefano Benazzo, Deputy Economy, Energy and Tourism Minister Ivo Marinov, Deputy Culture Minister Todor Chobanov and Italian experts presented the strategic plan for the cultural tourism development in Bulgaria.

The plan divides Bulgaria into 13 regions, called locuses. The division is made in a way that provides each region with its unique tourism product.  

Bulgaria can and should do more to develop its tourism, Benazzo said.

The main topic of discussion during the General Assembly of the World Tourism Association in Astana, Kazakhstan, was the development of cultural tourism as means of overcoming the financial crisis, Marinov said.
