Bulgaria’s winter resorts could register up to 30 percent revenue decrease
from 22.02.2010 17:51       Author - Tourist Media
Bulgarian winter tourism could register a 20 to 30 percent revenue decrease during season 2009/2010, chairperson of Bulgarian Tourism Chamber Tsvetan Tonchev said as quoted by investor.bg.

During winter season 2008/2009 Bulgarian tourism revenue reached nearly 200 million euro. Expectations for the current season are for revenue to remain at approximately 140 to 160 million euro.

According to Tonchev, the financial crisis, the late start of winter season and the Greek border blockade are main reason for the expected poor results.

Bulgarian tourism lost nearly 1.6 million euro because of cancelled bookings by Greek tourists.
