Bulgaria’s town of Kyustendil may turn into the first Bulgarian town, where smoking will be completely banned in public facilities, Zemia daily reported.
Kyustendil mayor Petur Paounov will present the project to the town’s municipal councilors.
If approved, the smoking ban will be introduced on July 1 2010. According to Paounov, significant measures are needed since 90 percent of the EU countries have introduced the full smoking ban.
As TM Bulgaria reported, the Bulgarian ruling party Citizens for the European development of Bulgaria (CEDB) suggested only a partial smoking ban.
