The Bulgarian coastal resort of Albena expects difficulties during summer season 2010 because of the financial crisis, Bulgarian News Agency reported.
Most likely Albena will register 13 to 15 percent decrease in bookings, deputy marketing and sales manager Yovka Strashilova said.
Albena resorts registered in 2009 an increase in the number of Bulgarian tourists visiting. Compared to figures for 2008, the number of Bulgarian tourists increases 40 percent. Yet, a decrease was registered for all other markets. The number of Romanian visits went down seven percent, while the Russian and West European market registered a 20 percent decrease.
In order to attract more tourists, Albena resort is planning to introduce a 20 percent discount for early bookings.
In the end of October, Albena announce its summer offers in collaboration with Majorca’s tour operator ITS. In December, the resort will present itself in Belgium and Netherlands.
