Nearly 40 beaches in Bulgaria’s southern coastal region still lack concessionaires, BGNES news agency reported.
The tender procedure has been delayed, which leaves the beaches without management shortly before the start of the summer season.
Signs like Unprotected Beach and Swimming Forbidden already welcome tourists.
The lack of concessionaires leaves the issues of medical aid and the availability of lifeguards unresolved, as well.
This year, the state has determined rent for beaches that have lacked owner over a long period of time. These beaches include Perla, Lozenets, Obzor, Kozlouka, Nestinarka, Oasis and Elenite.
