The cabin lift from Bansko to Bunderishka Poliana will be functioning for the first time during the summer, 24 Chasa daily reported.
The lift will be functioning from 8 am to 4.30 pm. Ulen, the concessionaire of Bansko’s ski zone, will make the lift available for all who like mountain walks.
Bansko is mostly recognized as a ski resort. As a result, nearly half of the hotels in the resort close down during the summer. Most of the hotels owners have hotels in coastal resorts and prefer putting all effort there during the summer.
Head of the Bansko tourism business union Ianka Rahova said that Bansko needs a change in image. The resort is still recognized as an expensive one, while it offers opportunities for all types of tourists.
The financial has affected smaller companies operating in the tourism sector. Small hotels register decrease in the number of visits.
