An Azerbaijani company has expressed interest in investing in cargo transportation at Plovdiv Airport, Monitor daily reported.
Bulgaria’s Transport Ministry is willing to start the procedure needed for the investment immediately. If the intentions of the company remain unchanged, Plovdiv Airport will be the only one in the country that will have separate concessions for its various activities.
The potential concessionaire is ready to start the construction of a cargo terminal immediately.
Plovdiv Airport’s new terminal was officially opened on July 1. Nearly 45 million leva were invested in its modernization. The airport can service five flights and a time and has 10 check-in desks.
