The association of Bulgarian cultural and historic heritage cities was founded on April 16 in the town of Veliko Turnovo.
The association was founded during the cultural tourism fair, which took place from April 14 to 17 2010.
The town of Veliko Turnovo initiated the setting up of the association. The town cooperates with the French city of Bayonne, which is a member of a similar organization in France.
According to Veliko Turnovo’s mayor Roumen Rashev, Bulgarian cities have to learn how to preserve their cultural heritage in order to find the right way to develop good cultural tourism.
