Archaeologists in Bulgaria save a mound from treasure hunters
from 17.06.2009 09:11       Author - Tourist Media
Archaeologists are working on the research of a mound near the Kazanluk region village of Dolno Izvorovo, radio Focus-Veliko Turnovo reported.

They have already uncovered the corridor leading to the tomb of the mound, head of Iskra history museum Kosio Zarev said.

Apart from the research, archaeologists have started working on the conservation of the mound.

Archaeologists believe that the tomb has intriguing architecture. This makes it an interesting site for exploration, though it was probably looted long time ago.

Research of the mound began after archaeologists found out that treasure hunters had already started looting the site.
