During excavation works in the mediaeval town of Cherven near Bulgaria’s Rousse, archeologists discovered a unique grave.
Because of grave’s small size archeologists believed that it contained the body of an infant. After further research, they found out that a man aged 30 to 35 years was buried there.
The skeleton of the person is preserved well. His height was 90 cm. Archaeologists believe that the grave belonged to a small person.
The funeral ceremony itself took part outside the Cherven graveyard. Archaeologists believe that only people who threatened living individuals were buried in this manner.
According to preliminary information, the person was the Cherven boyar’s clown.
