The grave of a princess was discovered during excavations at St. St. Peter and Pavel Monastery in Bulgaria’s Veliko Turnovo, radio Focus-Veliko Turnovo reported.
The princess was dressed in gold-embroidered clothing. Cloth remains will undergo lab analysis. Archaeologists discovered a gold ring featuring a solid amethyst, as well.
Another golden ring was also discovered. The ring was made of 2-carat gold and depicts an image of Jupiter.
In the past week, archaeologists discovered five other gold artifacts.
Another curious finding is a pelvic bone having an arrow lodged in it. The discovery dates back to the 14th century. The finding confirms either a dramatic event or a hunting incident.
Archaeologists announced that all findings made in the region will be exhibited in Sofia’s museum of archaeology in December and will remain there for three months.
