Ancient Greek inscriptions were discovered in Nicopolis ad Istrum ancient settlement during excavation works, Darik Radio reported.
The writings list the names of settlement residents who probably were members of a religious group worshiping the godess of Kibela. Kibela`s cult began in Asia during the 1st century BC. and was popular in ancient Greece.
Until present, archeologists have discovered several writings in Nicopolis ad Istrum. The two new inscriptions prove that the eastern religion were very popular in the region.
The new discoveries were made in a building destroyed in the middle of 3rd century. A new building was constructed over its remains. Archaeologists discovered the southern wall.
