Albania and Romania to compete against traditional regional tourism destinations
from 19.08.2010 16:27       Author - Tourist Media
Tourism consultancy companies believe that new tourism destinations will compete against traditional regional hotspots like Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria and Croatia.

Albania and Romania announced their strategies to develop their tourism sectors, Dnevnik daily reported. Both countries hope to achieve significant growth in the visits of tourists from other countries.

Albania is considered Europe’s fastest growing tourism market. The country carries its tourism marketing campaign under the slogan New Mediterranean Love. Its coastal resorts already attract significant number of tourists.

In 2009, Albania registered the visits of three million tourists from abroad. In 2010, it is expected to register unprecedented number of visitors.

Romania announced its official tourism growth strategy, as well. The country developed a general strategic plan in 2007. The plan includes the development of seaside, mountain, culture and business tourism.
