The risk of strike at Spanish airports has increased after the air traffic controllers’ labor-union in Spain and Spanish Airports and Air Navigation (AENA) negotiations failed on August 6.
The negotiation failure increases the danger of strikes in August, El Pais daily reported.
The two sides negotiated salaries and working conditions of people employed in air traffic control.
AENA representatives said that the problematic issue will be taken to arbitration.
On August 7, Spanish government asked the labor-union to accept AENA's suggestion or to go to arbitration.
Representatives of tourism branch and aviation companies are worried that strike will lead to booking cancellations during the busies period of the year.
