Hotel accommodation prices have decreased 17 percent on a global scale. The figures concern the first half of 2009, Associated Press reported.

All continents register a price decrease. In North America, prices went down 17 percent. Prices in Europe decreased 16 percent.
The index tracks fees the 78 000 hotels in 13 000 cities charged their customers.
