A special Bulgarian icons collection to be exhibited in Edrine

The Regional Museum of History in the Bulgarian town of Kurdzhali will exhibit a special collection of icons in Edrine, Turkey.

The icons date back to 16th-19th centuries. The total amounts of 78 icons were gathering during expedition in temples in the towns of Kurdzhali, Ivailovgrad, Haskovo and Smolyan in 1985. The oldest icon dates back to the end of 16th century.

The exhibition will take place as a part of a project, which aim is to develop cultural interaction between the two regions.
