There have been registered a decline in the number of Scandinavian tourists, who have visited Bulgaria in June 2011, in comparison to the same period in 2010, The Chairman of the Bourgas Regional Tourism Association (BRTK) Ivan Ivanov said, New Life Daily reported.
The number of Swedes, visiting Bulgaria, have decreased by 22%. Danish tourists in Bulgaria are 21% fewer in 2011 than in 2010.
Fortunately, there is a rise of 19% in Norwegian tourists, according to the chamber provided by the Bourgas Airport. In June 2011 Burgas Airport has serviced 225,908 passengers, which is almost 19% more than the same period in 2010, Ivanov added.
At the same time, the number of families with children from the Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Slovakia, United Kingdom, Israel, Russia and Ukraine has increased. The leading position among the growth in tourism is possessed by Israel - 75.6%. Tourists from the former Eastern block who visit Bulgaria have also increased, compared to 2010.
