A bike trip from Naardmeer lake in Netherlands will start on April 23. The aim of the initiative is to promote the preservation of European nature. Four recently retired regional directors of Netherlands society of Natuurmonumenten will take part in the trip.
The biking adventure will end on June 11th in Sakar Mountain on the Greek-Bulgarian border.
Sakar Mountain is part of the international initiative The Green Belt Movement. Sakar was chosen as the trip’s final destination because of the region’s biodiversity. The mountain is one of the few remaining European habitats of the Eastern Imperial Eagle.
The biking trip passes trough nature preserves in Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria.
