A foundation in Sozopol made a project for an 8-meters high brazen sculpture of John the Baptist, Sega Daily reported.
The initiative is being undertaken after the discovery of St. Jonh’s holy remains in 2010. It is believed that John the Baptist was the patron of Sozopol.
There is a project for developing of pilgrimage tourism which includes 20 Christian churches, monasteries and museums in the region. There will be constructed also a monument of the ancient Greek god Apollo.
