A necropolis from the 16th to the 18th century was discovered in Veliko Turnovo, radio Focus-Veliko Turnovo reported.

The necropolis was discovered during work on St. Ivan Rilski church. Archaeologists found nine graves and various artifacts in each.

In addition, they discovered two silver rings and gold clothing. The clothing is not preserved well but its golden threads are in good condition.

The discoveries make archaeologists believe that Veliko Turnovo had a well-developed gold production industry.
