Collection of 15 Bulgarian productions - 14 paintings and one sculpture will be included in the collection of the European Parliament (EP), Agency "Focus" reported.
The works, selected by a committee of Parliament was officially presented on 1 September at the Museum of Contemporary Art. The exhibition is titled "Bulgarian art collection of the European Parliament." By the end of September, selected works will be already in Brussels.
This project is running more than 15 months, said the head of the EP Information Office in Bulgaria Violeta Stanichich. The Criteria for selection of the paintings is their importance for the contemporary art in Bulgaria, she added.
EP has initiated the collection in 1980. During the past 30 years EP has collected 356 representative works - paintings and sculptures.
