The fully renovated Boyana Church will open doors for visitors on October 2, news.bg reported.
Culture Minister Stefan Danailov will take part in the opening ceremony.
Bulgaria's Everlasting Buildings initiative aided the renovation process. Boyana Church is the first landmark that the initiative has selected.
Restoration of wall paintings began in 2006. During the work, professors Grigor Grigorov and Ventsislav Tsvetanov managed to read the name of the painter. According to their research, wall paintings were the work of Vasilii Zograf.
Boyana Church is a monument of culture of national importance and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
