Bulgarian tourists spent more than one billion euro on vacations abroad over the first seven months of 2008, Sega daily reported.
The increase in comparison to figures for the previous year reached 25 percent, deputy chairperson of the State Agency for Tourism (SAT) Hristo Hristov said.
Greece happened to be the most popular foreign destination among Bulgarian tourists. Nearly 1.1 million Bulgarians selected the country as their holiday destination. Turkey ranks second with 813 000 visits.
