Archeologist Nicolai Ovcharov and his team discovered parts of a Roman road and a smithy near the complex of Perperikon, Darik radio reported.
Archeologists believe that the finding was part of the ancient road Via Egnatia leading from Constantinople to Rome.
An industrial center, probably a smithy, was discovered nearby. The premise was probably circular and had diameter of 10 m. Archaeologists discovered utensils that prove their claims concerning the functions of the premise.
Another interesting finding is a coin from the end of the 4th century, when Perperikon saw its zenith.
